[9:20pm] papegaai: Title: Future home of discuss.masspirates.org (at discuss.masspirates.org)

[9:25pm] jokeefe: don’t know
[9:25pm] igel: riot has a bridge ability, to use matrix protocol and irc protocol.. so.. users can use either irc client or riot chat client
[9:25pm] jokeefe: riot is a possibilty, but still considering
[9:25pm] jokeefe: good to know, thanks igel
[9:27pm] jokeefe: Local Surveillance Ordinances

[9:29pm] igel: i read the details of the camera rollout.. i thought this was _New_ England
[9:29pm] jokeefe: still working out the particulars
[9:29pm] puer: what's the background of the surveillance ordinance project?
[9:30pm] Castaway: The Arlington Selectboard is setting up a study group for what? Local Surveillance Ordinances?
[9:30pm] jokeefe: yes coming up with a local surveillance ordinance
[9:30pm] jokeefe: aim is to put constrants on town/city surveillance
[9:30pm] Castaway: great
[9:31pm] jokeefe: public meetings, comment period, data retention, i.e. oversight
[9:32pm] Castaway: I think oversight and admissibility are the two most important themes.
[9:32pm] jokeefe: agreed
[9:33pm] Castaway: data retention is important, too
[9:33pm] jokeefe: BTW: we have a surveillance camera mapping project cctv.masspirates.org
[9:34pm] Castaway: it sounds like a great project
[9:36pm] puer: at an earlier meeting an idea was brought up to post images of the cameras
[9:36pm] puer: (as part of a marketing campaign)
[9:36pm] puer: i thought that would also be a cool addition to the website
[9:37pm] puer: so for any given camera on the map, it would be possible to see a photo of the camera
[9:37pm] jokeefe: yeah, puer, got pictures - https://www.flickr.com/photos/9468132@N05/sets/72157654494704494

[9:41pm] igel: yizzir,
[9:41pm] igel: people all over the country organizing
[9:43pm] puer: location appears to have been scrubbed out of the flickr surveillance album photos
[9:43pm] igel: locally, theres a half dozen folks eager to build/teach
[9:44pm] puer: (not present in EXIF data. would be willing to sit down and help manually enter locations at next tech meetup)
[9:44pm] jokeefe: yeah, puer, some were taken with an traditional camera
[9:45pm] igel: it seems like the thread on bostonmeshnet.reddit helped us connect and take discussion to irc
[9:46pm] jokeefe: cool
[9:47pm] igel: finally, was offered to a bench/lab for iterative development.. and for sure.. week/monthly meetups
[9:49pm] igel: we'll need guidance!

[9:49pm] igel: inman sq.?
[9:52pm] igel: perhaps.. may be..
[9:53pm] jokeefe: cool
[9:53pm] igel: may be we should have a cryptoparty there?
[9:53pm] jokeefe: sure

[9:55pm] jokeefe: and pick a date
[9:55pm] jokeefe: any other topics?
[9:55pm] Castaway: I raised the possibility of starting a Pirate Party Meetup in Vermont, and it would be a forum for a cryptoparty.
[9:56pm] puer: meetup group on meetup.com? interesting
[9:57pm] jokeefe: sounds like a plan Castaway
[9:57pm] Castaway: Meetup.com
[9:57pm] Castaway: I hope so
[9:57pm] jokeefe: monthly can work
[9:57pm] jokeefe: don’t forget to put it up at cryptoparty.in as well

[9:59pm] puer: sounds good
[9:59pm] Castaway: aye
[9:59pm] jokeefe: aye
