Captain’s Log – Mailing Party, 12/30, 2pm & Jan. Meeting, 1/27, 2pm

Ahoy!  Cap’n James here.

We tend to do far more communicating on Twitter and Facebook and not nearly enough on this blog, so I have resolved to focus more of my efforts here and less forwarding other things there.  Since I am still enjoying the holiday, I’ll keep this log brief.

We have two events coming up in the next month:

  • This Sunday, Dec. 30th, we will be holding a mailing party to reach out to our 76 Pirate voters and many supporters who have shared their contact info with us.  It will start at 2pm on the 30th and will be at 111 Sunnyside Ave, Arlington, which is just over the Somerville/Arlington line.  Besides stuffing envelopes to keep folks up to date about what’s been going on in the party and send along a survey to get feedback from folks we will get a chance to talk about the events we want to be at in 2013.  There’s plenty of street parking, and it’s close to the 87/88 MBTA bus routes.  We hope you will join us.
  • On Sunday, Jan. 27th at 2pm, we will have our next in-person meeting at 40 Moulton Park Rd., Framingham, MA 01702.

As always, we have weekly IRC meeting at noon on Thursdays.  Details on the side bar.

2012 was pretty phenomenal, and we want 2013 to be even better.  We are planning to hold at least one Pirate Conference (and maybe two) this year as well as participating in the Together Boston electronic music festival in May, Boston Pride Festival in June and the Freedom Rally in September.  But we won’t be standing still and are looking at participating in the #BSidesBOS conference, possibly organizing a CryptoCurrencies Conference and doing something special at PaxEast to name a few things we have our eye on.

The thing about events is they take time and money.  We have a great group of volunteers (and are looking for more), but we are trying to find some more doubloons to help us travel into these new realms.  If you have some cash, please give what you can spare.  It is easy.  Thanks!

Talk with you on the 30th or in the new year!
