Organizing Out And About

Honor Aaron this Friday

UPDATE:  If you haven’t signed on to petitions to remove prosecutors Carmen Ortiz and Steve Heymann, please do.

We encourage you to attend the peaceful protest to honor Aaron Swartz this Friday. It will start at 3pm and will be in front of the John Joseph Moakley Courthouse at 1 Courthouse Way in Boston. You can take the MBTA Silver Line to the Courthouse stop or walk from South Station. There are also parking lots within walking distance of the courthouse. Flyers are available as is his Guerilla Open Access Manifesto.

This Sunday, the 27th, from 2-4pm we will hold our monthly in-person meeting. It will be at 40 Moulton Park Rd., Framingham, MA. If you would like to attend and need a ride, please email us and we will find someone to give you a ride. Erik has offered to pick people up at the commuter rail station in Framingham as well. The meeting agenda/minutes page is at the wiki.

We are supporting the TSA out of the MBTA Day of Action on Saturday, Feb. 2nd. We will gather to demand an end to random, un-Warranted bag checks in subways by TSA, DHS, and Transit Police. Simultaneous marches will commence at noon at five locations (Kenmore, Harvard, Ruggles, Lechmere, and South Station) and travel different routes through Boston and Cambridge to converge at 2 p.m. for a rally at the Parkman Bandstand on Boston Commons.

Finally, we are working on some other events including our June party conference, a September/October cryptocurrencies conference and more cryptoparties.  Contact us at info@masspirates.org if you want to help.

  1. Thank you for the sensible critique. Me & my neighbor were just preparing to do some research on this. We got a grab a book from our local library but I think I learned more clear from this post. I am very glad to see such great info being shared freely out there.
