2013-2014 Campus Coordinator Program Applications

The Mass Pirate Party (MPP) announces its inaugural Campus Coordinator Program. The MPP Campus Coordinator Program is a year-long program that offers leadership positions to high-quality, high-potential students  providing them with the resources, incentives, and inspiration to organize other pro-open government students and student groups in their areas.

Campus Coordinators (CCs) will serve as a new leadership tier in the Mass Pirates, providing local support for student groups throughout Massachusetts. In the fall of 2013, MPP will choose a select number of students to be CCs. Throughout the fall, new CCs will be trained in student outreach, organization, and communication techniques. CCs will then be sent out to find to new students and assist existing student groups in their local areas through the 2013-2014 semester. CCs will be responsible for significant student outreach and leadership training in their assigned regions, serving as a support resource for the students and student groups in their area throughout the school year.

As on-the-ground MPP representatives, CCs are given great flexibility in fulfilling their duties. They do not receive strong top-down orders, but are instead encouraged and expected to use their local knowledge to create and provide support for opengov-advancing groups in their region. Some of these responsibilities include organizing MPP regional conferences, creating and hosting leadership forums, distributing MPP resources on campus, assisting local leaders with their groups, and helping individuals start their own groups on campus.
