We held our 2012 conference, also our first, on March 10th, 2012. It was entitled Politics: share, remix, reboot.

Processing the videos of the conference is taking a bit of time, unfortunately, but Erik has been toiling away. Thankfully, his efforts have been successful and four of the talks are currently available:

Talk Details

Here are the details about the talks:

David House, a researcher at MIT who helped set up the Bradley Manning Support Network, gave a a talk entitled Going toe-to-toe with the state: navigating the challenges of a digital activist.

Writer and publisher Cecilia Tan, Shane Bugbee and composer Matthew Davidson gave a talk entitled Tales from the Net: Making a living at being creative panel.

Michael Anderson gave a talk called Fight Ridiculous With Ridiculous: The Guerrilla Tactics of Fair Use.

Also, Conor Sherman gave a talk on maintaining your security on the internet called Stranger Danger: Don’t Click that Link Even If They Offer Puppies and Candy.

Zacqary Adam Green of the NY Pirate Party showed Your Face is a Saxophone, an open-source CC0 animated series.

We had a number of talks by Pirate Party members, including:

  • Patents Upending by Erik Zoltan
  • Fair Use for Activists by Chris Walsh
  • How to Run for Office by James O’Keefe

Shauna Gordon-McKeon, organizer for the Boston Sunlight Foundation, was scheduled to give a talk called Bringing sunlight to government data. Unfortunately, this talk was cancelled.

I’m a freedom-loving humane activist running as an independent for Congress in the MA 9th District to help the 99% grow a voters revolution to overcome the Wall Street government and their two-party bandits!
