The draft policy poses significant risks to privacy. It would:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Use &#8220;preventing terrorism&#8221; as a justification, when there&#8217;s no evidence that cameras like this deter terrorism, or even that they\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/books.google.com\/books?hl=en&amp;lr=&amp;id=hN6imoZJMAQC&amp;oi=fnd&amp;pg=PA263&amp;dq=cctv&amp;ots=hNRZzLg_Z5&amp;sig=Z7ny9VGPggcs5JF9XhgyBJxrkqw#v=onepage&amp;q=cctv&amp;f=false\" target=\"_blank\">deter crime<\/a>\u00a0at all.<\/li>\n<li>Allow other cities&#8217; police to monitor public activity on Cambridge streets<\/li>\n<li>Provide few protections for how the data will be stored or used<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Please attend this\u00a0meeting today at 6 pm at 795 Massachusetts Ave, Cambridge, MA<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;d love it if you could prepare your own testimony, or simply express your concerns about\u00a0government surveillance on public streets in your neighborhoods.
