House Passes On-Line Voter Registration"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Thanks to the efforts of the\u00a0Election Modernization Coalition, the Massachusetts House has passed a bill that bring voting into the 21st century. \u00a0The two major improvements are \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.commoncause.org\/atf\/cf\/%7BFB3C17E2-CDD1-4DF6-92BE-BD4429893665%7D\/EARLY%20VOTING%202013%20-%20FACTSHEET.PDF\" target=\"_blank\">early voting<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.commoncause.org\/atf\/cf\/%7BFB3C17E2-CDD1-4DF6-92BE-BD4429893665%7D\/ONLINE%20REGISTRATION2013.PDF\" target=\"_blank\">online voter registration<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Early voting is a feature that other states have and will make it easier for busy citizens to vote. \u00a0As Pirates, it isn&#8217;t hard to see that allowing citizens to register to vote online is a significant improvement.<\/p>\n<p>The bill still has to clear the Massachusetts Senate next. \u00a0<a href=\"www.commoncause.org\/ma\/updatethevotema\" target=\"_blank\">Visit this Common Cause page and tell your State Senator to support it.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>While you are at it, <a href=\"http:\/\/org.salsalabs.com\/o\/2495\/p\/dia\/action3\/common\/public\/?action_KEY=14464\" target=\"_blank\">please go tell your Mass.
