Troll Bill goes to Senate"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eff.org\/deeplinks\/2013\/12\/good-news-america-were-one-giant-step-closer-patent-reform\" target=\"_blank\">EFF reported<\/a> that the House of Representatives voted 325-91 in favor of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/masspirates.org\/blog\/2013\/12\/04\/tell-congress-fight-patent-trolls\/\">Innovation Act<\/a>. \u00a0Thanks to everyone who told their Congress person to support this bill.<\/p>\n<p>As we mentioned yesterday, the Innovation Act would make\u00a0life harder for patent trolls by:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>making it easier and cheaper to fight against the trolls in court;<\/li>\n<li>requiring trolls to make their cases for infringement publicly and with specifics;<\/li>\n<li>protecting end users and consumers when they face suits from patent trolls.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This bill isn&#8217;t all that we want it to be, but it helps move us away from the patent insanity we have now.<\/p>\n<p>The White House <a href=\"http:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/sites\/default\/files\/omb\/legislative\/sap\/113\/saphr3309r_20131203.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">supports this bill<\/a>, so all we need to do is get it past the Senate intact (or improved).<\/p>\n<p>Please contact both Senators and urge them to support the Innovation Act:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a
