{"id":2340,"date":"2014-01-15T12:23:44","date_gmt":"2014-01-15T17:23:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/masspirates.org\/blog\/?p=2340"},"modified":"2014-01-15T12:23:44","modified_gmt":"2014-01-15T17:23:44","slug":"tell-ma-senate-to-say-yes-to-online-voter-registration","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/masspirates.org\/blog\/2014\/01\/15\/tell-ma-senate-to-say-yes-to-online-voter-registration\/","title":{"rendered":"Tell MA Senate To Say Yes To Online Voter Registration!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Back in November the Massachusetts House has <a href=\"https:\/\/masspirates.org\/blog\/2013\/11\/22\/mass-house-passes-on-line-voter-registration\/\">passed a bill that would bring voting into the 21st century<\/a>. \u00a0The two major improvements are <a href=\"http:\/\/www.commoncause.org\/atf\/cf\/%7BFB3C17E2-CDD1-4DF6-92BE-BD4429893665%7D\/EARLY%20VOTING%202013%20-%20FACTSHEET.PDF\" target=\"_blank\">early voting<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.commoncause.org\/atf\/cf\/%7BFB3C17E2-CDD1-4DF6-92BE-BD4429893665%7D\/ONLINE%20REGISTRATION2013.PDF\" target=\"_blank\">online voter registration<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px;\">Early voting is a feature that other states have and will make it easier for busy citizens to vote. \u00a0As Pirates, it isn&#8217;t hard to see that allowing citizens to register to vote online is a significant improvement.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The bill is now before the Massachusetts Senate and will be voted on this Thursday. \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ssl.capwiz.com\/aclu\/ma\/callalert\/index.tt?alertid=63051236&amp;type=ST&amp;etname=20140115+voting+v1&amp;etjid=1227772\" target=\"_blank\">Please use this Mass. ACLU page to find your State Senator and tell him or her to support it!<\/a><\/p>\n<p>While you are at it, <a href=\"http:\/\/org.salsalabs.com\/o\/2495\/p\/dia\/action3\/common\/public\/?action_KEY=14464\" target=\"_blank\">please go tell your Mass.
