Urge Your Friends to Stop CISA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Following on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.senate.gov\/?congress=114&amp;session=1&amp;vote=00281\">cloture vote on CISA<\/a>, the\u00a0Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act, the Senate is again considering amendments to it and a final vote.<\/p>\n<p><span>While Massachusetts Senators Warren and\u00a0<span>Markey, as well as\u00a0Senators Leahy and Sanders from Vermont voted against it.\u00a0 In the rest of New England, no one else voted against it.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>CISA is a awful bill that will allow the NSA to collect our communications without even anonymizing it, as even a <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.emptywheel.net\/2015\/10\/26\/anonymous-former-intel-official-confirms-cisa-is-about-bypassing-nsa-minimization\/\">former intel official admitted<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This fight is not over, but if we are to succeed the Senate needs to hear from us. \u00a0Tell your friends to visit\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.decidethefuture.org\/\">Decide the Future and demand that\u00a0their senator vote against CISA<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Tell your friends that:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>CISA is a surveillance bill that would immunize corporations from liability if they share your personal data with the government.\u00a0\u00a0Specifically it allows companies to automatically and simultaneously transfer your data to the DHS, NSA, FBI,\u00a0and local police with all of our\u00a0personally-indentifying information.<\/li>\n<li>We\u00a0would not be able to sue them to stop our\u00a0data from being shared and you won&#8217;t even be able to use the Freedom of Information Act to find out what they shared and with whom. \u00a0Putting that data in once place will be a great target for malicious hackers and will be an OPM breach in the making.<\/li>\n<li>Twitter, Apple, Google and many other tech companies have come out against CISA.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The vote could be today, so <a href=\"https:\/\/www.decidethefuture.org\/\">please tell them soon<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>If you haven&#8217;t already, call Senator Warren at <a href=\"tel:202-224-4543\" value=\"+12022244543\" target=\"_blank\">202-224-4543<\/a>, and Senator Markey at <a href=\"tel:202-224-2742\" value=\"+12022242742\"
