The banksters were responsible to keep track of the paperwork on who owned the\u00a0property that they sold. But they didn&#8217;t.<\/p>\n<p>Instead they\u00a0created foreclosure mills where employees\u00a0made up paperwork the banks were responsible for keeping. Paperwork, without which, it is illegal foreclose on someone&#8217;s home.<\/p>\n<p>Faced with the deluge of foreclosed properties, the Massachusetts legislature helped the banksters hide these illegal foreclosures by changing\u00a0the time a <a href=\"https:\/\/masspirates.org\/blog\/2015\/11\/23\/urgent-stop-banksters-from-stealing-peoples-houses\/\">person can contest a foreclosure from 20 years to 1 year<\/a>\u00a0for anyone foreclosed on before 2014.<\/p>\n<p>Besides helping the Massachusetts Alliance Against Predatory Lending (MAAPL) setup a website to make it easier for people to contest their foreclosure, we are helping MAAPL\u00a0set\u00a0up anti-foreclosure clinics around the state.<\/p>\n<p>We need your help.<\/p>\n<p>The next clinic is in Athol today. It is from 5:30-7:30pm at the\u00a0Athol Public Library on\u00a0568 Main Street.\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/maapl.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/MAAPL-74K-Alert-Flyer-Athol.pdf\">MAAPL has a flyer for this event<\/a>\u00a0if you live in the area and can get a few up in prominent places or just email to people who would be interested.<\/p>\n<p>There are at least three more clinics scheduled:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Thursday, December 22, 5:00-7:30 pm in Springfield [<a href=\"http:\/\/maapl.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/MAAPL-74K-Alert-Flyer-Springfield.pdf\">Download PDF flyer<\/a>]<\/li>\n<li>Tuesday, December 27th, 5:00-9:00 pm at the\u00a0Somerville Public Library, 79 Highland Ave.<\/li>\n<li>Wednesday, December 28th, 5:00-9:00 pm in New Bedford [<a href=\"http:\/\/maapl.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/MAAPL-74K-Alert-Flyer-New-Bedford.pdf\">Download PDF flyer<\/a>]<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We need your help to spread word about these events, setup more clinics\u00a0before December 30th and call people who have been foreclosed on to tell them about these clinics.\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:info@masspirates.org\">Email us<\/a>\u00a0if you can help.<\/p>\n<p>If all you can do is spread the word, then share this page\u00a0or\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/maapl.info\/senate-2015\/\">http:\/\/maapl.info\/senate-2015\/<\/a>. A house the banksters are trying to steal with fabricated paperwork.
