The Senate&#8217;s cloture vote passed overwhelmingly Monday with only Wyden and Paul voting against it.<\/p>\n<p>Like SESTA, FOSTA would\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/masspirates.org\/blog\/2017\/11\/07\/protect-the-open-web-today\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">censor any site that allows user supported content without actually hindering sex trafficking<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Senate will resume consideration of FOSTA at 11am Wednesday, the 21st. Now would be a good time to\u00a0call Senator Warren at (202) 224-4543 and Senator Markey at (202) 224-2742 and tell them how this bill will lead to more censorship of online discussion, favor large companies and won&#8217;t hinder sex trafficking.\u00a0Please share our blog version of this message with friends and family.<\/p>\n<p>Should this bill pass, the copyright monopolists will be much closer to achieving\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.techdirt.com\/articles\/20180318\/00493539444\/hollywoods-behind-the-scenes-support-sesta-is-all-about-filtering-internet.shtml\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">their goal of mandatory filtering of all content on the Internet<\/a>.
