He spent the fortune he received from the sale of Reddit on his legal defense. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Living with depression and facing 50 years in prison and $1 million in fines, he took his own life. He died far too young with so much left to accomplish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tonight, 6-9pm PST, Aaron Swartz Day will host <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.aaronswartzday.org\/\">Remembering Aaron, Ten Years After<\/a><\/em> at the Internet Archive in San Francisco. The event will not be live streamed, but if you can attend in person, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eventbrite.com\/e\/remembering-aaron-swartz-10-years-after-tickets-492215699407\">please register in advance so they know how much pizza to get<\/a>. We will put up the recording once we hear about it.
