Governments provided taxpayer funds to pharmaceutical companies which paved the way for rapid production and distribution of vaccines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, pharmaceutical companies have shut-out large portions of the global population from receiving doses by refusing to share vital vaccine technology. As of April, 2022, only&nbsp;12% of the low-income population around the world is fully vaccinated.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pharmaceutical companies have denied requests from the World Health Organization and low-and-middle income countries which requested technology to manufacture additional doses.
