{"id":8415,"date":"2023-06-20T09:00:00","date_gmt":"2023-06-20T13:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/masspirates.org\/blog\/?p=8415"},"modified":"2023-06-19T13:15:36","modified_gmt":"2023-06-19T17:15:36","slug":"speak-up-for-ranked-choice-voting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/masspirates.org\/blog\/2023\/06\/20\/speak-up-for-ranked-choice-voting\/","title":{"rendered":"Speak up for Ranked Choice Voting!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Massachusetts Joint Committee on Election Laws will hold a hearing on the&nbsp;bills for allowing municipalities to choose Ranked Choice Voting (RCV) (<a href=\"https:\/\/malegislature.gov\/Bills\/193\/H711\">H.711<\/a> \/ <a href=\"https:\/\/malegislature.gov\/Bills\/193\/S433\">S.433<\/a>) and the existing RCV home-rule petitions that various&nbsp;municipalities have enacted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The hearing is this Wednesday, June 21st at 1pm. The hearing will be in room\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/malegislature.gov\/GetMap\/424\">A-2 and will be virtual<\/a>.\u00a0It will be live streamed on the\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/malegislature.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\">Massachusetts Legislature website<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To register to testify virtually, you must provide contact information on the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLSek-HXyflg923x-GimG7OE6sXvj_w1GjxQWnmog7k_iDY3HOA\/viewform?usp=sharing\">form<\/a>&nbsp;by&nbsp;<strong>12:00 PM on&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>Tuesday, June 20, 2023<\/strong>.\u202fIndividuals and groups testifying in person are also encouraged to register online.
