Shotspotter is an acoustic surveillance technology that the City of Cambridge has deployed to detect gunshots. While this may sound beneficial on the surface, there are serious concerns about how this technology impacts our community\u2014particularly communities of color.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p>This event is hosted by First Parish Church in Cambridge, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theblackresponsecambridge.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Black Response<\/a> and the Stop ShotSpotter Coalition. The speaker is <span class=\"a_GcMg\">Spencer Piston, <\/span><span class=\"a_GcMg\">Associate Professor of <\/span><span class=\"a_GcMg\">Political Science at Boston University.<\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The First Parish Church is at 3 Church Street, Cambridge.
