Facial Recognition Hearing

Registration is closed for this event

The Massachusetts legislature's Facial Recognition Commission will hear public testimony on Friday, July 30. The commission is tasked with studying police use of facial recognition technology and reporting back to the legislature about how to strengthen existing legal protections.

The hearing will start at 11am and will be virtual. You can find minutes from past hearings.

If you would like to provide testimony on this issue, sign up at the commission's site by 5pm on Thursday, July 29th.

Also sign up here so we know the Pirates who will be attending, so we can coordinate and send you a reminder about the hearing. We'd like to get as many people as possible lined up to speak to the commission.

You can also submit written comments to the commission if you cannot make it in person. Written testimony may be submitted by e-mail to jacqueline.o.manning@mahouse.gov or by mail to Facial Recognition Commission, 24 Beacon Street, Room 136, Boston, Massachusetts 02133.
