Voter Outreach 2024

Draft letter to cities and towns:

Dear

Please allow me to introduce myself, I am the chair of the Massachusetts Pirate Party. You can find us at masspirates.org.

I am writing to you obtain the following information from you:

1. a copy of all voters in your municipality. We would prefer this data in a delimited file format. The current voter database pipe (|) delimited export format is acceptable to us. Additionally, if you could tell us how frequently we can request a copy of this data (yearly, quarterly, etc., we would appreciate that information;

2. If it is not possible to provide all registered voters to us, we request that you send us the same data on all the register voters in the Pirate designation so that we can contact our members;

3. the dates for when nomination papers are available, when they are due and any other dates related to your 2025 election. We have the date of your municipal election from the Massachusetts Municipal Association website. If the election calendar is on your website, we are happy to look at it if you would kindly provide the link to us;

4. a list of the offices up for election in 2025 and the number of nomination signatures required for each.

If you have any questions about my request, please feel free to email me or call me at ...

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Sincerely,

Summary

BSides Cambridge was a good event.

Decided to endorse all five state ballot questions based on the results from the poll (see above).

Chose Saturday, January 25th as the date for the Winter conference based on the results from the poll (see above). We will choose the location in a month.

No update on US Pirate Party.

We will be at the Boston Anarchist Bookfair this weekend.

Helping to organize the effort in Somerville to eliminate ShotSpotters. Hopefully, there will be a meeting soon.

Pirate News will be recorded at the Boston Anarchist Bookfair, if possible. Will focus on October as cyber security month and our endorsements for the ballot questions. Next virtual recording will be the 27th.

No update on media.

Reviewed the letter (see above) to send to municipalities. Will send it by Nov. 12th. Will send it to the towns that have elections in January earlier as we don't want to miss any nomination dates. If the number is small, we will try calling instead to get the dates and/or checking their website.
