<nowiki>
[11:41] <jokeefe> hi all
[11:41] <jokeefe> hi all
[11:42] <passstab> yo
[11:42] <passstab> yo
Line 155: Line 155:
[12:44] <jokeefe> yes, both
[12:44] <jokeefe> yes, both
[12:44] <[bsod]> lol
[12:44] <[bsod]> lol
[12:49] <erixoltan> My computer crashed so I'm a bit distracted today.  I am trying to restore it and nothign is working.
[12:49] <erixoltan> Does anyone want to hear about the PNC?
[12:49] <[bsod]> ok
[12:49] <jokeefe> yes
[12:50] <passstab> aye!
[12:50] <erixoltan> I made a long proposal to deal with situations where a PNC member state no longer has an active party.  Under the proposal that state can be put on probation, and ultimately demoted to "observer" status if they don't have an active party.
[12:51] <erixoltan> The proposal was approved. It has vague/flexible criteria for a member state.
[12:51] <erixoltan> Michigan then applied for full PNC membership, but were told that they don't have enough members yet (they only have two people.)
[12:52] <[bsod]> lol, come back when you have 3
[12:52] <erixoltan> California still hasn't applied for full PNC membership - I am sure they will be approved when they do, because they seem to have a big movement getting underway there.
[12:53] <erixoltan> that's about all from the PNC.
[12:53] <[bsod]> must be nice having one of the most populus states
[12:53] <erixoltan> they have a pro-ocean-conservation position that seems to be getting a lot of traction.
[12:54] <[bsod]> oh, i like the ocean
[12:55] <[bsod]> least the atlantic doesnt have that great trash rift
[12:55] <erixoltan> well, we *do* have new jersey...
[12:55] <[bsod]> heh
[12:56] <jokeefe> CA is rather hard to get ballot access.  Need tens of thousands to join.  Good luck to them.
[12:56] <[bsod]> indeed
[12:56] <[bsod]> how many did we need?
[12:57] <erixoltan> 50
[12:57] <[bsod]> awesome
[12:57] <[bsod]> in maine, you can register to vote the same day that you are going to cast a ballot, and they tried to change it so that people had to register 3 months ahead of time, and people were out protesting that they were trying to supress the poor vote
[12:58] <[bsod]> in contrast to mass, you have to register forever before an actual election happens
[12:58] <[bsod]> and they keep trying to find ways to get you off the voting list if you dont keep up
[12:59] <erixoltan> hooray for Maine.
[12:59] <[bsod]> i keep getting, 'failure to respond to this letter will result in removal from the active voting list' .. or 'failure to show up for jury duty may result in criminal charges plus also removed from voting list'
[13:00] <erixoltan> Jury duty is easy. Just tell them you're a pirate and they won't let you serve.
[13:00] <[bsod]> just saying tho, its hard for poor people to maintain a residence in the same place for a long long time
[13:00] <[bsod]> lol, i always make up something
[13:00] <jokeefe> I think it is 19 days for MA.  certainly not months.  3 months prereg is too long.  so is getting your sigs six months before getting on the ballot
[13:00] <[bsod]> imagine being judged by people who are so stupid that they cant even get out of jury duty
[13:00] <jokeefe> lol, erixoltan
