Melanie Campbell has volunteered to serve as treasurer until we find a permanent replacement.  Motion to elect, starting on Saturday Feb 10th, until the actual member election occurs.  Motion passes 3--0.

PPI International.  They pushed back against us going to observer status.  They offered to allow us to remain full members, at no cost.
Jamie hoping to get election ballots out this weekend, if not sooner.

Elect Temporary Quartermaster

Joe needs to step down as Quartermaster so he can run for office starting Feb. 13th. We need to elect a temporary replacement before the elections are done.

Update calendar from:

  • Jan 25th - Last date for nominations
  • Jan 26th - Candidates submit videos which we will post to our YouTube channel starting on Jan 27th
  • Jan 27th - We will send ballots out. Pirates will have three weeks to vote
  • Jan 28th - Pirate News will include candidate Q&A
  • Feb 3rd - We will also have time for a candidate Q&A at the Winter conference.
  • Feb 16th - Ballots must be returned

Steve will handle voting tokens. Jamie will send out ballots.

Planning for 2024

  • Restart democracy committee: Sat Jan 6th
  • Contact cities/town to get list of voters
    • Get list of contacts
    • Write email
    • Send it
  • Put together plan for local organizing and 2024 town/legislature campaign
  • Mail members/voters
    • Ask them to organize locally
    • Ask them to campaign/run
    • Ask them to give us their full contact info
