The Mass. House amended [https://malegislature.gov/Bills/194/S2581 S.2581], to add an Internet account ban for anyone younger than 14 and to require 14-15 year olds to get their parents to allow them to get an account. Some hackable age verification software will likely be required which will mean that anyone older than 16 will need to prove they are over sixteen, with all the privacy implications of that. The bill text is in [https://malegislature.gov/Bills/194/H5366 Amendment H.5366].
Let's brainstorm actions we can take to oppose this bill.

Jamie to update 2026 campaign plan for 2027.

We haven't adhered to our [https://masspirates.org/wiki/Articles_of_Agreement Articles of Agreement]'s [https://masspirates.org/wiki/Articles_of_Agreement#Article_4.0:_Member_Meetings Member Meetings section] strictly since we have existed, specifically the [ https://masspirates.org/wiki/Articles_of_Agreement#4.2_Form Form] and [https://masspirates.org/wiki/Articles_of_Agreement#4.2_Time Time] sections. Meetings have met weekly and bi-weekly (our current form) and not twice a year each over six weeks.
Cambridge Stop Shotspotter coalition will have a community dinner on April 25th, in prep for upcoming city council meetings.

Rework them to:
Cambridge/Somerville pirate meetup in May.

* Have a section on conferences (possible spring/fall, at least one a year)
June: party conference and Fifer's day (Boxboro).
* Rework the member meetings to be on-line at least once a month
* Set when elections for the pirate council is and that we can elect people at a conference or on-line by secret ballot

An Act relative to protecting access to applied behavior analysis services in schools

JoeO mentioned An Act relative to protecting access to applied behavior analysis services in schools which he urged us to support.

Actions to oppose S.2581

The Mass. House amended S.2581, to add an Internet account ban for anyone younger than 14 and to require 14-15 year olds to get their parents to allow them to get an account. Some hackable age verification software will likely be required which will mean that anyone older than 16 will need to prove they are over sixteen, with all the privacy implications of that. The bill text is in Amendment H.5366.

Let's brainstorm actions we can take to oppose this bill.
