21:19 < srevilak> hi all, sorry for being late
21:19 < l1sb0n> hi
21:20 < srevilak> small crowd tonight.  And I see that Jamie isn't feeling well, and won't be joining us
21:20 < l1sb0n> JCFiero, by the way, I think you should try to talk to some people in Northampton, I  think there will be more interest there than in Holyoke
21:23 < JCFiero> I have been working on dividing the state up into Mass Pirate Party "districts" and it also indicates the areas where we have candidates on the ballot this year in MA
21:23 < JCFiero> I agree. I graduated from UMass Amherst.. and I lived in Northampton for a couple years
21:24 < l1sb0n> do you have any candidates this year?
21:24 < JCFiero> I am looking for the link to my MPP map.. but I am really out of it tonight... and the Captain and First Officer are otherwise occupied
21:25 < l1sb0n> take your time, by the way, do you recommend a good vpn?
21:26 < JCFiero> map - on a cool open source platform that the EU Pirates also use is here: http://umap.openstreetmap.fr/en/map/massachusetts-pirate-party_8456#9/42.1624/-71.5347
21:27 < JCFiero> One candidate is: MA House 8th Worcester Joseph Guertin - Massachusetts Pirate Party Candidate MA House 8th Worcester Bellingham, Blackstone, Millville & Uxbridge MA. https://www.facebook.com/VoteGuertin https://twitter.com/VoteGuertin
21:28 < JCFiero> and the other: Noelani Kamelamela - Pirate Party Candidate 27th Middlesex Somerville MA https://twitter.com/votenoelani
21:29 < JCFiero> Steve if you would be so kind as to run the IRC meeting tonight or table it for our inperson meeting on Saturday and just have an informal chat tonight with our visitor/observer from Ludlow MA.
21:30 < l1sb0n> I will be leaving anyway, thank you so much
21:30 < JCFiero> I don't actually know if davidd is on 24/7.. but I think he is from Europe Pirates.. and mostly here a lot to obsverve.. Steve?
21:32 < JCFiero> oh, hope I didn't scare him off/.
21:33 < srevilak> JCFiero: I think an informal meeting for tonight is fine
21:33 < srevilak> after all, we are missing captain and first officer
21:34 < srevilak> I see l1sb0n signed off.
21:34 < srevilak> Jason, any pressing business on your end?
21:38 < srevilak> looking forward to seeing Citizen Koch on Friday night
21:39 < JCFiero> no nothing pressing - I think ... still no account yet for Joe.
21:40 < JCFiero> lisb0n "I was recently in switzerland and my friend was talking about the pirate party and I thought I might get involved when I get back, yes I do live in MA (Ludlow, near springfield)" so maybe we have some interest out west now?
21:40 < srevilak> interest out west would be great
21:41 < JCFiero> I also got soem 20somethings interested ... they will be in Boston... downtown.
21:42 < srevilak> great news
21:43 < srevilak> any chance they'll be joining us on Sat for pirate social
21:43 < srevilak> ?
21:43 < JCFiero> one of them promotes big gatherings like raves... they are plugged into the college and younger scene... so maybe we can start growing the party .. tapping into that young techno-idealist community... they will join us if it's fun
21:43 < srevilak> nice
21:44 < srevilak> was at south end tech center tonight, talking with mel King.  He's looking for people to help with Green Party candidates

21:44 < srevilak> invite him to an irc meeting :)
21:45 < srevilak> Here's an interesting read
21:45 < srevilak> https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2014/06/congress-decides-this-week-whether-shut-nsa-backdoor-heres-how-you-can-help
21:46 < srevilak> Amendment to DoD appropriations bill
21:46 < srevilak> To defund NSA use of section 702 for surveillance on US citizens
21:46 < srevilak> will have to call my congressperson about that tomorrow
21:48 < JCFiero> aye.
21:50 < JCFiero> we need to coordinate with Garret better... Lucia and I are going to try to show up at his Syria protest for the first 30-50 mins and then excuse ourselves to come to the MPP in-person.. let him knwo we have to leave to go the the meeting..
21:52 < srevilak> Syria protest, or Iraq?

21:53 < srevilak> https://www.facebook.com/events/536473713125939/
21:53 < JCFiero> ya: We will be joining the calls for non-intervention in Iraq with a rally at the Park Street T Station (Boston Common) from 1 - 2 PM. From there, we'll carry forth the message of non-intervention and demand the US stop providing material, financial, political, and military support for rebels/terrorists that are waging war against Iraq and Syria, and march to the O'Neill federal building via Faneuil Hall.  Bring a sign! Bri
21:54 < JCFiero> Both I guess because it's also "HANDS OFF SYRIA! - BOSTON"
21:54 < JCFiero> so basically anti-war and anti-interventionist
21:55 < srevilak> looks like it might be both happening
21:55 < srevilak> Will try to join you guys before the social
21:56 < JCFiero> ok excellent.. that would rock
21:59 < srevilak> we're almost at 10 -- motion to adjourn?
21:59 < JCFiero> I think 3rd party coalition building is key (as you know) but trying to put a lot of effort into helping Green candidates right now will be stretching us thin.. will have our hands full running Joe and Noe's campaigns... but cross-promotion is key for sure!
21:59 < JCFiero> yea.. might as well call it
22:00 < srevilak> ok, see you guys sat. then
22:02 < JCFiero> kk night
