[9:24pm] jokeefe: ids
[9:26pm] jokeefe: James O’Keefe, Somerville
[9:26pm] Malt: Samuel Capradae, Worcester
[9:28pm] jokeefe: Holding off on the Freedom Rally discussion. We can continue it more on email where others can give their opinion
[9:28pm] jokeefe: Projects
[9:28pm] jokeefe: Pirate Picnic
[9:28pm] jokeefe: Looks like we are moving forward on it
[9:29pm] jokeefe: We should do calls this week and next
[9:29pm] Malt: I've got time on Friday
[9:29pm] jokeefe: thanks
[9:30pm] jokeefe: Makes sense to start with organizers and volunteers
[9:30pm] jokeefe: What would you think about doing a similar event in Worcester in September?
[9:30pm] razz left the chat room. (Quit: razz)
[9:30pm] Malt: There's definitely interest
[9:31pm] Malt: Worcester's subculture is really oddly un-intersectional, despite there being all of 30 of us
[9:31pm] Malt: I think getting one of the major makerspaces behind it is key, also college students.
[9:32pm] jokeefe: We should pick a date
[9:32pm] Malt: let me double check when worcester pride is, i'd hate to double book that
[9:32pm] jokeefe: agree
[9:33pm] Malt: We should avoid Sept 9th, which is the big day
[9:33pm] jokeefe: Is there a fee for marching in it?
[9:34pm] Malt: That's a great question, let me ask
[9:35pm] Malt: I believe there's a $150 fee
[9:35pm] Malt: http://worcesterpride.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/2017-Worcester-Pride-Participation-Guide.pdf
[9:35pm] Malt: my mistake, that's for the full 4 day festival
[9:35pm] Malt: to march in the parade is 20$
[9:37pm] jokeefe: Are you already marching in it, or should we look at perhaps having pirates march in it?
[9:37pm] Malt: I wasn't currently planning on it but being a Beloved Member of the Community I doubt i'd be rejected
[9:38pm] Malt: Having the pirates would be a great introduction
[9:38pm] Malt: let the city know we exist, have a face-to-face with other interested potential members in the city
[9:40pm] jokeefe: Would be a good excuse to call Worcester area people and see who would be willing to march. If we get enough interest, then worthwhile to try
[9:41pm] jokeefe: Freedom Rally is the weekend after that
[9:41pm] jokeefe: What about a camera mapping picnic on the 30th?
[9:42pm] jokeefe: gives a break between whatever happens with Freedom Rally
[9:43pm] Malt: I'll start sounding out who might be interested
[9:44pm] jokeefe: sounds good
[9:44pm] Malt: telling folks about my involvement has generally evoked a reaction of "are they still a thing?" and "do you really make them call you malt"
[9:45pm] jokeefe:
[9:47pm] jokeefe: did you ever get a chance to put together the write up of the FOSS Tutorials idea, so we can share it and see who is interested in helping?
[9:50pm] Malt left the chat room. (Ping timeout: 252 seconds)
[9:51pm] Malt joined the chat room.
[9:52pm] Malt: sorry, not yet, but I will. I was waiting for them to get back to me with more specific requests, but GIMP labels and an intro to OO/libreoffice's Sheets should be a good starter
[9:52pm] jokeefe: ok
[9:52pm] jokeefe: when you say labels, do you mean like mail merge or were you thinking of something else?
[9:53pm] Malt: like, product labels
[9:53pm] jokeefe: oh ok
[9:53pm] Malt: Grampy Joe's Deadly Salsa & the like
[9:54pm] jokeefe: so graph design & product management with open source tools?
[9:55pm] Malt: as much of that as could fit into an hour and a half long meeting, yeah
[9:55pm] Malt: a series of*
[9:56pm] jokeefe: would appreciate it if you wrote up a one paragraph description and we will get it out
[9:56pm] jokeefe: when you know more, we can do another write up
[9:56pm] jokeefe: does that work?
[9:57pm] Malt: Can do!
[9:57pm] jokeefe: thanks!
[9:58pm] jokeefe: That is all I have to report. you?
[9:58pm] Malt: Yeah, I'm good
[9:58pm] jokeefe: shall we call it a night?
[9:58pm] Malt: And end early? Let's make history.
[9:58pm] jokeefe: lol
[9:58pm] Malt: Good work everyone!
[9:58pm] jokeefe: have a wonderful evening
[9:59pm] Malt: you too!
