Commonwealth Bills to Review

Met organizers for BSWAC.org. They have four bills they would like support on:

  • An Act establishing a moratorium on face recognition and other remote biometric surveillance systems (S.1385)

  • An Act relative to protecting Massachusetts residents against federal government surveillance (H.2687)
  • Dignity Not Deportations Act (H.1588 / S.1122)

We are still gathering all 721 voters. Alex is contacting the remaining cities and towns.

Once the list is complete, we will add to our database and contact voters.

Conference

  • Conference went will.
  • Video editing in progress.

Reports

  • Tabled at Boxboro fifers day
  • Were out at harvard square and mapped ~ 50 cameras. Still more to be done, esp on Harvard's campus
  • Marched in 2025 Boston Dyke March. Met the Boston Sex Workers and Allies collecive. They have several MA legislative priorities. We'll discuss further at the next meeting.
  • No updates on status of other bills. Can check status for next meeting.

Pirate News

  • Will do an episode on July 4th weekend

Voter outreach

  • 721 registered voters in about 221 cities and towns
  • Continuing to request voter lists from municpalities with pirates. Hope to have them collected in a few weeks.
  • Later, will go about contacting voters.
  • Mailed 320 for the conference (using the addresses we had)

2026 Campaigns

  • Working on a plan. Have some tentative dates (see conference wiki).
  • Once we've reached out to voters, will look for volunteers.
