Summary

Boston's Mayor put forward requests for grants to fund BRIC and other intelligence efforts. These were opposed by us, the ACLU, and Restore the Fourth. City council adopted this proposal, 7--5.

Working agenda: running for office (45 minutes), presentation on Creating a more distributed and fair tech industry, and then planning for the next three months.

USPP. They plan to elect a new auditor in two weeks. Interested parties can contact info(AT)masspirates.org for information on running.

Boston Anarchist Bookfair. Nov 11-12th. jokeefe put in presentation and table requests. Expect to find out if these requests are accepted later in the month.

Video newsletter. This Sunday as usual. Will skip Oct 15th (due to conference on the 14th). Resume newsletter on Oct 22nd.

Elizabeth Warren is a KOSA sponsor. KOSA is one of the bad internet bills. Allows state AGs to go after platforms that allow postings by kids. For example, states with anti-LGBTQ laws could go after providers that (say) provide information about LGBTQ issues.

We'll put out poll for the winter conference.
