[12:11] <jokeefe> Do we want to March in St. Patrick's Day Peace Parade?
[12:11] <jokeefe> Do we want to March in St. Patrick's Day Peace Parade?
[12:12] <jokeefe> and who is willing to march in it?
[12:12] <jokeefe> and who is willing to march in it?
[12:14] <black_van> I might be able to, i don't know yet
[12:14] <jokeefe> k
[12:15] <jokeefe> SplendidSpoon, srevilak, ... ?
[12:16] <steverudy> I'd maybe be interested in marching in the Pride parade, not so much the St. Patrick's parade
[12:19] <jokeefe> I'll ask folks on email and others to see if they want to march.
[12:20] <jokeefe> On the June Convention, need to pick a location at the 3/10 meeting.  Need a matrix of the costs involved at the different sites.
[12:22] <jokeefe> On the web site migration, going to setup the new hosting service.  Will work with srevilak and shidash about moving existing sites over and setting things up.
[12:22] <jokeefe> mildbeard isn't here to give a National Party news.  SplendidSpoon, have you heard anything?
[12:26] <SplendidSpoon> ah sorry was with boss
[12:27] <SplendidSpoon> I haven't heard anything, I've been swamped with work, I will march in Pride again though
[12:29] <jokeefe> k
[12:30] <jokeefe> That is all I have.  anything folks want to bring up?
[12:30] <jokeefe> was my post on the latest SCOTUSFail decent enough - http://www.masspirates.org/blog/2013/02/27/supreme-court-kills-4th-amendment-on-line/
[12:33] == steverudy [webchat@wjox763-3439-gujk903.bu.edu] has quit [Quit: Web client closed]
[12:34] <black_van> i posted it to r/technology
[12:35] <feedbot> [Twitter] masspirates: Really tough to view, but important - Photographer as Witness: A Portrait of Domestic Violence http://t.co/OikM1ZbCvu - http://twitter.com/masspirates/statuses/307182154020945922
[12:35] <black_van> perhaps we should work on finding a regular meeting venue? I would like to host some new member events but I don't know where
[12:36] <black_van> i think the pirate party video is a good intro/ice breaker and then which ever members are present can field questions
[12:37] <jokeefe> good idea.
[12:37] <jokeefe> piratetimes piece recommends just going to a bar or restaurant
[12:38] <jokeefe> been on my list to get a group started in Camb/somerville
[12:38] <GrimJack> Re: the blog post: I think its important to note that the Utah facility isn't going to scan data, then discard it. It's there to warehouse the data for a very long time. Think generations. That said, we have a sense of what that data is being mined for *right now*. But there's little known about what today's data may be mined for by the next Administration. Or in five, ten years. Or longer.
[12:40] <jokeefe> agreed, GrimJack
[12:40] <jokeefe> tried to say that, but must have failed in my rush to get it out.
[12:41] <GrimJack> You mention an expanding timeframe, but not that something completely above-board now could abruptly be made illegal.
[12:43] <GrimJack> Just as a exec. signing statement created now could be abused by a future administration with different intent than existed when it was implemented.
[12:44] <jokeefe> agreed
[12:46] <GrimJack> I don't mean to dominate the channel. I apologize. I am only an occasional visitor to this meeting.
[12:47] <jokeefe> don't worry, it is pretty quite.  everyone is busy at work
[12:48] <jokeefe> anything else on folks' radar we should be concerned about?
[12:50] <jokeefe> black_van, I think the thing to do is just pick a time and location and do it.  Videos are good, but conversation is great, especially it is regular.
[12:50] <GrimJack> Does anyone recall a statement made (I think) sometime last year regarding NSA capture of data and how its not really a search because the data isn't examined by people until the software brings it to their attention?
[12:51] <black_van> i am going to spend sometime this week finding places that would be good for it
[12:51] <jokeefe> great.  I can send you the list of folks in boston.
[12:52] <black_van> to see if they can host?
[12:52] <jokeefe> I hadn't heard that GrimJack.  The person who uttered it is clueless.
[12:52] <GrimJack> I had an idea I wanted to develop, but I can't recall who or where on that. (Google is great for keywords, not so great at concepts.)
[12:52] <jokeefe> black_van, was thinking to invite them.
[12:52] <black_van> k, when the time comes I will ask you for all the new signups too
[12:53] <GrimJack> Agreed they're clueless, I think it was some mil-type testifying to some panel or comittee. Feeling clueless about not having bookmarked it.
[12:55] <jokeefe> great, black_van
[12:56] <jokeefe> GrimJack not finding it either.  might search for NSA testimony
[12:57] <jokeefe> anyone got anything else "official"?
[12:58] <black_van> ok ttyl
[12:58] == black_van [webchat@p-59-92-29-53.hsd9.ma.comcast.net] has quit [Quit: Web client closed]
[12:59] <jokeefe> guess that is it for the official part
