Summary

Meetings every two weeks. Next one is Jan 26th.

US Pirate Party Issues:

  • Regarding plan committee, there are a lot of different takes on gun policy and regulations. Joe asks folks to weigh in via discord. He believes it's a hard conversation we need to have. See https://uspirates.org/chat/ for discord link.
  • Among different states, there are different takes on a Women's right to choose. MAPP has a "reproductive freedom as a human right" policy.

"They will look for causes of trauma and harm, everywhere except were they actually exist".

Projects

  • Party conference scheduled for Jan 21st. Unfortunately we haven't had bandwidth to promote it. Were planning a virtual conference for Jan 21; the next one will be in-person in Lowell. Jamie suggests pushing it back one month. We agree to reschedule for Feb 18th. Will put out call for topics this weekend.

Local outreach

  • Jamie will reach out to our activism and PR director, to see what meeting times work for them.

2023 local elections

  • Town elections are in process now. Folks in Arlington who'd like to run for town meeting should contact Steve via info AT masspirates.org. Steve says it's always a challenge to find good people to run.

Pirate News.

  • Last Sunday, we recorded a segment on public domain day.
  • Next pirate news Sunday at 7pm (go live at 7:30).

Reports

Last Pirate News included a discussion about public domain day. It's also the 10th Anniversary of Aaron Schwartz's death.

Working on reports for OCPF. Hope to have them done next week.
