On May 22nd, the Governor Patrick signed a bill that brings voting into the 21st century.
The law allows voters to register to vote online, cast their ballot between eleven and two days before an election and 16 and 17-year-olds to pre-register to vote. Hopefully, most of the features will be in effect this year, but some will wait until 2016.
Unfortunately, voting day registration did not make it into the final bill, though it did pass in the Senate.
Thanks to everyone who contacted their Massachusetts Senator and Representative, and to the Election Modernization Coalition for their efforts in getting this bill into law.
