This Saturday, July 23rd, noon-6pm, we will hold a Pirate Picnic on Georges Island in Boston Harbor. We are co-hosting it with Boston Freedom of Information. We hope you will join us. We will have picnic food, games, costume contests, as well as political discussions and trainings. However, we encourage you to bring your own water, food for yourself and/or to share with others, and of course, your favorite pirate gear. We will be taking the noon ferry from the Boston Long Wharf-North landing and will be there until 6pm. If you arrive on a later or earlier ferry, we will be at the parade grounds to the left of the fort from the pier. Here is a pdf map of the island. You can purchase ferry tickets on-line and either print them out at home or pick them up at the ticket booth. When filling out the form, choose the Boston to Georges Returning from Georges option and make sure to choose July 23rd as your travel date. You should be able to buy tickets at the ticket booth as well. Please tell us you are coming at our Facebook event page or you email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or call / txt us at (617) 863-6277 (MAPP). It will be a great afternoon of geek politics, activism, and fun. We hope you can make it! It is high time we started asking members and supporters where they think we should focus our efforts. The first step in that process is to ask for questions we should ask in the survey. We have our own, but there are doubtless more we haven’t thought of but our members want. Please offer your suggestions on this post or you can suggest things on our Facebook group or dm / @ us or hash tag them as #mppsurvey on Twitter. We plan to send the survey out next week so please get back to us soon. Thanks! PS: If you are on Twitter and are in Massachusetts or New England and we don’t follow you, but you follow us, please send us an @ message where you are from and we will follow you back.published under Organizing | Comments Off on We want your member/supporter survey questions!

In remembrance of Independence Day, we will not be holding our weekly IRC chat tonight and will continue them next Monday, July 11th, at 9:30pm. Meet your new Quartermaster At our last weekly IRC meeting, we elected acting Quatermaster David Hardwick of Wakefield. Now that we have a quartermaster, we are filing with Massachusetts’ Office of Campaign and Political Finance so that we can take loot from individuals who wish to contribute to our efforts. Just as with our Captain and First Officer, all of our officers will serve until we hold elections under the new Articles of Agreement. We also have openings on the Pirate Council, so if you are interested, please contact us. We welcome your comments and help. Hello All, Julian Assange (the founder of Wikileaks) is speaking live as we speak on democracy now. I thought this may interest many of our supporters and activists, as our party is a strong supporter of freedom of information/freedom of the press and of course freedom on the internet! I have a link to the stream below!
