Last Tuesday, we had two media interviews. In the morning, First Officer Lucia Fiero appeared on Touch 106.1 FM. In the afternoon, 27th Middlesex State Representative candidate Noelani Kamelemela and Captain James O’Keefe appeared on the BNNTV’s The Real Talk Show.
We do not yet have audio of Lucia’s appearance, unfortunately. The video from Noelani and James’ interview is embedded below.
Many thanks to Charles Clemons, general manager of TOUCH 106.1 FM, and Lolita Kelsey, the producer and host of The Real Talk Show for having us on. You should support both organizations, especially Touch 106.1 FM’s fight to get back on the air.
Touch 106.1 was a 100watt community radio station until recently when it was shutdown by the FCC. The FCC has not made any additional low power community radio licenses available since 2000.
The airwaves are public property and should not be limited to only to a few large organizations that can pay. The FCC’s failure to open up the radio spectrum on a regular basis shows them to be yet another government organization captured by large corporations.
