The Smedley Butler Brigade, Veterans for Peace, Boston and its allies are standing out on June 11 from 5 to 6 PM in Harvard Square, calling for freedom for heroic Wikileaks whistler-blower Chelsea Manning and for WikiLeaks’ founder Julian Assange not to be extradited to the US.
Trump expanded Obama’s attack on whistleblowers. We must support defenders of free speech and government transparency. To fail to do so now will embolden those who would limit our First Amendment right to know what our government does in our name.

Chelsea Manning, released when the grand jury that had demanded her testimony was closed, was called before another grand jury and jailed for refusing to participate with it. The US Government has entered more charges against Julian Assange in order to have him extradited to the US. Reality Winner is still held for revealing US intelligence information on efforts by the Russian government to influence the US election.
