Securing web sites is hard especially when you have other people's private or sensitive data. In the talk I lay out steps web programers, designers and quality assurance folk can do to better...

Since tomorrow is Turkey day, I am canceling tonight's IRC meeting. We hope you are able to gather with your immediate family and friends tomorrow in a safe manner. With others, you can always talk with them over Jitsi's free and secure video chat. I posted a draft December 2nd IRC agenda. Add to it as needed.  Contact us at info@masspirates.org if you do not have a wiki account. December 4th is the International Day against DRM, so we will likely discuss it at this Sunday's Pirate News.

We had technical difficulties and were not able to record last Sunday's Pirate News. We talked about Disney's creative way to screw writers out of paying royalties and what it could mean for creators if Disney's legal effort succeeds. Alan Dean Foster's letter to Disney is a thing of beauty. Our Pirate News live stream starts again tonight at 7:30pm: You can find our past videos at https://www.youtube.com/user/masspirates/videos including those from our party conference last week...

Yesterday's election is done, though we wait for the final counting to finish. Millions of people voted early and they deserve to have their vote counted, whomever wins. We supported Questions 1 & 2 and voters overwhelmingly agreed with us on the need to expand the automotive right to repair law and passed Question 1 overwhelmingly. Question 1 is shaping up to be the most expensive ballot initiative in Massachusetts history, but it moves us forward on Right to Repair. Ranked Choice ...

Tonight, we will join the United States Pirate Party's election night live stream. We hope you will join us. Today, voters will choose whether two ballot initiatives pass: Right to Repair and Ranked Choice Voting (RCV). We support both initiatives and urge you to support them as well. When you vote, be sure to flip your ballot over to vote YES on Question 2. Ranked Choice Voting is simple, fair, and easy. With an RCV ballot, you can vote for one candidate just like you always have, or...
