Defend the 4th Amendment on Jan. 21st

We are helping Restore the 4th Massachusetts organize a lobby day for S.899 (An Act relative to forfeiture reform) and want you to join us.

Civil asset forfeiture harms our 4th Amendment right to be free of unreasonable seizures of their property. It is most often directed at poor people and people of color. While it is justified as a measure to fight crime, it really helps pad police budgets in a manner that is unaccountable to elected oversight.

The lobby day is Tuesday, January 21st, 10am-3pm. We aim is to get voters to lobby the Judiciary committee to vote this civil asset forfeiture bill out of committee. We hope you will join us and encourage others to support this important bill.
