Trump’s attack on whistleblowers reaches a new milestone Monday as a British judge will rule on whether the United Kingdom will extradite Julian Assange to the US. Should he be extradited and convicted, the US government will have a new tool to go after journalists or publishers who reveal US government secrets. The threat to the First Amendment is very real.
Protesters will meet in front of the British Consulate Monday. The protest starts at 11am, January 4th, at One Broadway in Kendall Sq, Cambridge. The British Consulate is a short walk from the MBTA Red Line. Metered parking is available on many streets in the area as well as along Memorial Drive.
