In 2012 & 2020, voters passed laws that ensured residents’ right to repair their car wherever they wanted. Now, we need to make sure we have the same rights with our electronics.
The Digital Right to Repair Act, H.341 and S.166 will guarantee our right to repair electronics — like smartphones, computers, and even farm equipment. It requires manufacturers to provide owners and independent repair businesses with fair access to service information, security updates, and replacement parts.
MassPIRG and Repair.org have holding a lobby day on Monday, November 8th. If you can lobby in person, fill out MassPIRG’s sign up form.
If you cannot attend in person, please write and call your legislators now and ask them to co-sponsor the Digital Right to Repair Act.
