The Massachusetts legislature’s Facial Recognition Commission will hear public testimony on Friday, July 30. The commission is tasked with studying police use of facial recognition technology and reporting back to the legislature about how to strengthen existing legal protections.
The hearing will start at 11am and will be virtual. You can find minutes from past hearings. We’d like to get as many people as possible lined up to speak to the commission.
Sign up to testify at the commission’s site by 5pm on Thursday, July 29th.
Also, signup to coordinate our testimony, testimony by Pirates and to get a reminder about the hearing.
Before and during the hearing, we will discuss the bills at https://discuss.masspirates.org/riot/#/room/#masspirates-discussion:matrix.org.
