Surveillance Treasure Hunt Sunday

Image is released into the public domain

As part of the national party’s Pirate Week, we will hunt for surveillance cameras in Central Square, Cambridge, this Sunday, 9/22, noon to 2pm. We will meet in the plaza in front of the Cambridge Savings Bank. It is at 630 Massachusetts Ave, Cambridge, MA 02139.

Cambridge recently decided to start a surveillance camera pilot in Central Square against our opposition. We need to map the locations of any existing cameras so we know which ones are new after they deploy them.

We posted instructions for how to use several camera mapping apps on your phone so you can get ready. Check out what we have mapped so far at cctv.masspirates.org.

Thanks to everyone who came out on Monday to find surveillance devices in Assembly Square.
