Main Topic Out And About Surveillance

Sunday: Help find surveillance cameras in Worcester!

This Sunday, December 12th, we are going to map all of the surveillance cameras in downtown Worcester. Join us!

At noon, we will meet in front of the DCU Center at the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Major Taylor Boulevard. Once we meet up, we will then divide into teams and fan out to map cameras. Afterwards, we will get lunch, find a place outdoors, eat and talk about what worked and what didn’t. We encourage everyone who plans to join us to wear masks, social distance and get vaccinated.

There are Route 23, 26 and 30 WRTA bus stops close to where we will meet on Major Taylor Boulevard. The Major Taylor Parking garage is diagonally across from where we will meet.

Register in advance to get an email reminder and so we know who will attend. We don’t want to leave you behind!

To help you get ready, we posted instructions for how to use several camera mapping apps on your phone. You will need to create a free Open Street Map account first.

Check out the cameras we have identified at our surveillance camera map at cctv.masspirates.org.
